Project Smiles 2020

Writer's picture: GSAGSA
On January 6th, we celebrated Kings Day by having our annual Project Smiles event in the community called Maizal. This year we partnered with a dentist office to be part of our outreach and teach families about brushing teeth. This year we were able to give every child a toothbrush and toothpaste to take home. Throughout the day, we repainted and cleaned a house for a blind man who has no family. Additionally, we gave him amongst others in deep need bags of food. There were several stations throughout the area, for instance: face painting, various games, hair washing, and snack area. Proceeding, we came together for some fun worship, a message on Jesus' love, and prayer. At the end of the event, we presented over 200 gift bags to children in Maizal and saw every child smile big.

It was beautiful to see the transition of frowns turn to pure joy. We could see hope restored in the parents'/guardians' eyes. We want to give a special THANK YOU to all who donated and been praying for this event. We could sense the prayers and support that day! Thank you for helping make boys, girls, men, and women smile and sense Jesus’, unconditional love. THANK YOU to all the volunteers that gave up so many days of free time to help prepare for this event, as well as being at the event.
